C06: CLEAR SKIES AHEAD

YES! Day job has returned to normal! Money is in the bank, a trip to New York City this weekend is in the works. Things are already looking up!

[A selection from my still-being-worked-on commissions list.]

-That said, unfortunately San Diego Comic Con is off the books. There was no way between getting set for Japan, and the events afterward for me to put in for attendee badge or pros applications. I miss California already, but another time... 2012...

-I'm deferring to the trifecta of Otakon (end of July), Anime Weekend Atlanta (late Sept.) and New York Comic Con (mid Oct.) to make my presence felt. Really it's always the fall where my work picks up, so things should work out just fine.

-Still an unhealthy stack of work to finish, so maybe this place in April will be my checklist.

B36: MUCH THANKS

Much thanks that I'm back in the saddle and ready for 2011!

Much thanks for hindsight that says "I did a lot of really, REALLY impressive artwork this year!"

Much thanks to the people willing to take a chance on me, whether it was a success or a failure.

Much thanks for having nothing but sheer persistance and a bitter refusal to quit.

Much thanks to everyone who follows my work, no matter who you are. Who are you anyway!?

B18: DUAL CRUSH

A week ago was a CRUSHING triple-deadline. Two of those pieces though, you'll be able to see at SDCC and of all things... Comiket 78. Here's a sampler.

B07: FROSTPOCALYPSE

So very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very tired of snow.
Clockwise from top left:

-Continuing work on commission from last year's MTAC. Way late, but out of control color work. I want this one to count!

-Sketchwork for another request, a Draenei mage. No, I don't play WoW.

-A portrait, semi-cute styled bust for a friend's business card. This'll look good! :)

-Finally, an unreleased pic from last May. A commission piece that fell through the cracks sadly. But it's really cute and was a fun piece to draw.

B06: DEBTS TO SOCIETY

I think this all-in-one image format should work out fine.

Here, clockwise from top to bottom is a color example of the current commission I'm working on. Next is the brutally delicious Tira, from Soul Calibur. And, with maybe a better sized version later is a design sheet for my mecha musume, Hikaru. Hard to believe, it's been nearly a year since I played with those characters...

B04: THE ZENITH

Holy smokes. It's like I'm possessed! This BETTER maintain after Ohio!
What's insane is that all this has happened in the past THREE DAYS. All 100% digital work. Most of it Photoshop 6.0. Need I repeat it?

B03: OHIO BOUND

I was bound to be sidetracked at some point. But all the better for it. I'll be riding shotgun into Columbus for Ohayocon next Friday, and won't be back till the following Monday, so this post should tide things over until I get back. Some looks into works-in-progress:

A preview of a waaaaay overdue commission request. This WILL be done before I leave.

A preview of what I hope will become a kickass set of flyers for the year.

A little something extra. Crazytown.

A26: SIEG ZEON

Been waaaay behind on commissions in favor of comics and staying MOTIVATED. Seems harder and harder as the months go on, which is honestly really scary. I chalk it up to more overblown expectations than absolute lack of work. I AM trying often to juggle three or five different projects at the same time.

The mood here is PERFECT. Linework, not so much. For three UC era Zeon underwater mobile suits, they're short on looks, so I had to pump up the attitude.

Also this:

What looks more and more like a definite doujin project BESIDES THE OTHER TWO is a Gradius Gaiden else-worlds take. I love the Viper and all, but she's gotta have a home away from home. That's where the battle ready, 1,300ft wide Cerberus-class supercarrier "Faraway Reach" comes into play.
